Paris Saint-Germain has two prominent free agents this summer when the contracts for Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos expire in June.
Bother players are in their late 30s and despite their age, L’Equipe reported on Wednesday that Messi and Ramos are not considering a severe drop in their salary in the event of an extension at PSG.
If the reporting is accurate, the French giants have no choice but to say goodbye to the two players. The capital club cannot have two aging players earning high wages knowing that Financial Fair Play is monitoring them and they can use this money to add depth to the squad.

A recent report revealed that two hurdles are stopping PSG and Messi from reaching a contract extension; one of them is the economical side. The 2022 FIFA World Cup doesn’t want to lower his salary from what he’s currently earning.
The Ligue 1 side will be better off long-term without these two players and this summer transfer window will allow sporting advisor Luis Campos to have some flexibility to improve the squad while maneuvering Financial Fair Play.
