‘Shame’ – Brazilian Pundit Rips Neymar for Performance in PSG’s First-Leg Loss vs. Bayern Munich

Paris Saint-Germain is currently on a three-match losing streak and hasn’t played well since returning from the FIFA World Cup break.

The capital club’s recent 1-0 first-leg loss to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 is the latest performance that has many criticizing PSG, especially forward Neymar Jr.

Former Brazilian footballer José Ferreira Neto ripped the 31-year-old for how he played in Tuesday’s defeat at the Parc des Princes.

“Neymar [on Tuesday] was the shame of the shame of an exceptional player, one of the greatest on Earth of all time,” Neto said Wednesday (h/t UOL Sport). “He should have been expelled. He didn’t play anything. Mbappé in five minutes did more than Neymar in the entire game.”

Neymar had three total shots during the contest, with only one being on target, and the Brazil international generated one scoring chance. As a result, it wasn’t his finest of games.

However, the veteran does have 90 minutes to redeem himself with a quality road performance on March 8 when PSG travels to the Allianz Arena. Then, Neymar can be one of the reasons the capital club can turn their situation around and advance to the quarterfinals with a world-class performance.
