Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos is known for acquiring young talent, and last summer transfer window, the club chief began injecting youth into the squad with players like Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike.
The January transfer window is now closed, so Campos is putting together his summer plan, which includes a new target. Mundo Deportivo reported on Friday, citing sources, that PSG is one of the clubs probing into the Athletico Paranaense’s Vitor Roque.
Roque has been a sensation on the Brazilian under-20 team at the South American Youth Football Championship, leading the Seleção as the top scorer with five goals.
Currently, FC Barcelona is reportedly the preferred destination for the 17-year-old as the Spanish club looks for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. However, that’s not stopping over clubs from following the player, hoping to convince him to ditch the Catalan side.
The Premier League teams Chelsea and West Ham United are joining PSG in pursuing Roque. Since arriving at Athletico Paranaense, the teenager has scored seven goals in 36 fixtures in all competitions.
Athletico Paranaense doesn’t want less than €35 million and €40 million when it comes to the transfer clubs will need to pay, and with the rumored interested clubs, the Brazilian side might indeed get the fee they want.
