Paris Saint-Germain is making its presence known in the tennis world as the first round of the 2023 Australian Open gets under Monday. The latest to show love to the capital club is Victoria Azarenka.
Azarenka showed up to her press conference in a PSG jersey and of course, the reporters wanted to know what the occasion was to be wearing that kit. Nonetheless, the 33-year-old stated that there was no reason; she’s just simply a fan of the capital club.
“Like why are you wearing PSG? Nobody understands that I have been supporting them since 2012, since Beckham was signed to the club,” Azarenka told reporters on Monday. “Leo [her son] is extremely into football now. He wants to play in PSG. That’s his dream.”

The Belarusian tennis star joins fellow tennis star Emma Raducanu, who recently stated to have learned much from watching PSG’s start players Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“It was pretty awesome,” Raducanu said. “The pinnacle of sports. Such a cool atmosphere to experience live. I wished there was a tennis court with that many fans in it.
“I just learnt how they deal with it, how they just kept going about their things, how they were taking penalties under pressure. It was pretty amazing to watch.”
Who knows perhaps more tennis players will be showing PSG love as the Australian open continues until Jan. 29th.
