Ligue 1: PSG Youngster Reportedly Gaining the Confidence of Messi, Neymar

When Paris Saint-Germain sporting advisor Luis Campos brought in Hugo Ekitike, the Portuguese club chief was banking on the 20-year-old being the next great French forward.

After struggling to find his way on a stacked PSG attack, Ekitike appears to be finding his confidence. The former Stade de Reims player has scored four goals in his last five games in all competitions. Furthermore, the stars on the team are taking notice.

Ekitike had a challenging time attempting to click with Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr. However, that is changing.

Le Parisien reported that Ekitike now feels better installed in the PSG squad. The young forward scored in the final game before the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, laying the foundation to begin gaining the confidence of the star attackers.

The PSG goal score has always had the confidence of Mbappe, which might have to do with the two speaking the same language. Nonetheless, Ekitike now sees that confidence growing with Messi or Neymar.

Messi had the key pass to Nordi Mukiele, who provided the assist on the opening goal scored by Ekitike in PSG’s 2-0 win over Anger on Wednesday night at the Parce des Princes. If the two South American players begin clicking with Ekitike, he could be ready to hit another level in his game.
