After winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Messi is back in training with Paris Saint-Germain as the veteran forward gets back into game shape to help the capital club in the second half of the 2022-23 season.
The French giants’ first game with Messi will be Friday night in their French Cup Round of 64 against LB Châteauroux at the Stade Gaston Petit; however, the Argentine will not make an appearance in the game.
PSG manager Christophe Galtier spoke with the media on Thursday and provided an update on Messi.
“Leo trained [Wednesday] and [Thursday],” Galtier told reporters (h/t Canal Supporters). “He won’t play tomorrow. We make sure he’s ready for the next game. We will take stock. I will be very attentive to what he will tell me, but we want him to be available for the next match. It was important that it be celebrated at home by all the players at the training center.”
