In his fifth career FIFA World Cup, Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi managed to finally score a goal in the knockout stage of the sport’s biggest tournament.
After Argentina struggled to get much going early on in its World Cup round of 16 clash against Australia, Messi took it upon himself to get the attack going for the reigning Copa America champions.
Messi took Argentina’s first shot on target in the contest, and his shot attempt trickled into the back of the net for a goal.
