The future of Lionel Messi will be the main talking point in a few days once the 2022 FIFA World Cup wraps up. The Argentine’s contract will expire in June 2023, and he has a decision to make soon regarding where he wants to play next season.
For the 35-year-old, there appear to be three options. The first is remaining at Paris Saint-Germain, where he’s endured a bounce-back 2022-23 football season and is showing the form many expect from him.
Suppose Messi decides to leave the French capital. In that case, a return to Barcelona is also rumored, but so is the veteran forward opting to say goodbye to Europe and join MLS side Inter Miami.
Nonetheless, Cadena SER reported on Sunday that the Argentinian should stay in Paris while the club has already shown a willingness to extend him. Furthermore, what also favors PSG is that the Spanish press reports that Messi is comfortable in Paris.
“If we had to bet, we should do so that he will continue at Paris Saint-Germain,” the Spanish outlet said.
“And also because the first year was difficult in terms of adaptation and now, from what they explain to me, their life in Paris is perfect. The children are happy, he and his family, his wife too.”
