Report Reveals the Mindset of Neymar, Mbappe Heading Into PSG’s Second Half Schedule

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup now in the history books, the world of football has turned its attention back to the club level. For Paris Saint-Germain, it will return to Ligue 1 play on Dec. 28 with a home matchup against Strasbourg.

Lionel Messi is currently the only PSG player who featured at the World Cup who has not yet returned to the club to begin preparations for the second half of the season. The likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar already returned to the club and have been regulars in training as of late, and according to RMC Sport, the two star forwards are in line to play against Strasbourg.

RMC Sport adds that Neymar and Mbappe “want to keep the pace,” and they each “have the will to move on after the World Cup.”

Mbappe returned to PSG three days after the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final, while Neymar made his return to the Camp des Loges mere days later. They each came up short of winning the 2022 World Cup, but they sure already have their sights set on continuing their recent strong run of form in PSG’s upcoming Ligue 1 fixtures.

PSG heads into the second half of the season holding the top spot in the Ligue 1 standings with 41 points through 15 matches played.
