Transfer News: PSG Reportedly Wants ‘Genuine Progress’ to Land Manchester United Star

Paris Saint-Germain wants to add another forward after only bringing in Hugo Ekitike this past summer. The capital club likely wants a veteran goal scorer and the name continuing to sound is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

Rashford’s contract expires in June, but The Red Devils are likely to activate a clause that sees the Premier League extend the 25-year-old for another season. However, PSG isn’t giving up on its pursuit.

On Monday, CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs reported that the French giants still intend to continue discussions with Rashford.

The Ligue 1 side hopes to see if they can make genuine advancement to see if the forward wants to do what few English players do, leave the Premier League and head abroad.

“PSG still intend to continue talks with Rashford and see if they can make genuine progress,” Jacobs wrote on Twitter. “They want full buy in before approaching #MUFC. He’s a player they would love to sign, but they were nowhere close to doing so over the summer.”

If Rashford doesn’t sign a long-term contract with Manchester United, then the English club will need to decide if they want to sell the player this summer.

However, there’s also the other angle that PSG is being used by the England international to secure a better contract extension for himself. So it will be interesting to see how everything develops.
