The future of Lionel Messi will be determined when the 2022 FIFA World Cup ends as the 35-year-old has his contract expire in June. However, after a challenging first year at Paris Saint-Germain, the veteran forward has had a bounce-back season.
Messi has discussed his family and himself being adapted to Paris after over a year of moving from Barcelona to the French capital. As a result, extending the Argentine is an option on the table.
Other options are on the table, including returning to FC Barcelona and a better exit from the Spanish club. Barcelona sporting director Jordi Cruyff provided more optimism that the Argentine can return to the Camp Nou.

“Barca and Messi have to be together again one day,” Cruyff said (h/t Mirror). “This is clear.”
Along with PSG and Barcelona, Inter Miami is reportedly also in the mix as Messi decides whether to remain in Europe, which is a daily grind, or move to South Florida and enjoy the final seasons of his football career.
