Premier League Pundit Wants Messi Should Avoid David Beckham, Inter Miami

The future of Lionel Messi is being discussed as Paris Saint-Germain would like to keep the 35-year-old for a little longer as the Argentine shows his past form while at FC Barcelona.

While the French giants want to hold onto Messi, Barcelona also has dreams of a possible return to the Camp Nou. However, there’s a wildcard in the pursuit for the veteran forward as Major League Soccer side Inter Miami is also a potential destination.

Although Inter Miami presents a good retirement landing spot considering the city and working with David Beckham, who is a co-owner of the club, one football pundit believes Messi should turn down the former England international.

“He’s 35 years of age – two-years younger than [Cristiano] Ronaldo,” Simon Jordan told talkSPORT. “He’s a genius of a footballer and like everything, everything runs its course so I’d be disappointed to see him land at Planet Hollywood, in Beckham’s circus.

“This is arguably the world’s greatest player at a stage of his career where he should be able to perform in the elite leagues. So going to America – I don’t know what that says.”

Messi stays playing at a high level for PSG, so the French giants don’t want to see the Argentine exit as he can contribute alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr.

It will be interesting to see what the seven-time Ballon d’Or decides after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
