Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is set to lead the Brazil national team for its upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage opener, as the CONMEBOL powerhouse will square off against Serbia on Thursday.
A day ahead of the much-anticipated World Cup match, Neymar took to Instagram to share a message that one could note may be in response to the outside criticism that he received for posting a photo that had a photoshopped sixth star around the Brazil national team’s logo on shorts that he was wearing.
“To dream, to aim, and to put your objective as a priority is not to belittle your rivals, but rather to set a goal for you to pursue,” Neymar wrote. “Tomorrow it starts.”

Neymar heads into this fixture in keen form, especially as he recorded a total of 20 goal contributions for PSG in Ligue 1 play over the first half of the season.
