Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi didn’t take long to score his first goal of the 2022 FIFA World Cup as the veteran forward converted a penalty kick opportunity for Argentina against Saudi Arabia.
After Argentina generated a foul in the penalty area less than 10 minutes into the game, Messi stepped into the box. The PSG star was calm and relaxed and provided a gentle shot that would beat the Saudi Arabia goalkeeper, who guessed wrong.
Messi gave the South American nation a 1-0 and could be looking for more.
