Verratti Lauds Messi as the ‘Best in History’ Following PSG’s Champions League Fixture vs. Benfica

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is now the latest player to laud Lionel Messi as the best player of all-time.

Verratti took some time following PSG’s UEFA Champions League 1-1 draw result against Benfica to speak to RMC Sport, where he singled out the Argentine forward as the best player to ever play the sport.

“It’s amazing what he does, you never get used to it,” Verratti said. “It’s in the simple things that you become in love with him.

“For me who loves football like that, he’s an example, he’s the best in history.”

Messi shined in PSG’s away clash against Benfica. Not only did the veteran forward score a goal in the contest, but he also played the role of a playmaker with three goal-scoring chances created for teammates. More so, he also completed three successful dribble attempts during his 81 minutes of playing time in the match.

Overall, Messi now sits at three total goal contributions in Champions League play this season with two goals and one assist.
