Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 over AC Ajaccio on Friday night at the Estadio François-Coty might indicate that a bromance, at least on the pitch, is brewing between Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.
Messi was involved in all three goals for the capital club, one that the Argentine scored himself and two others that the veteran forward facilitated to Mbappe.
OptaJean pointed out on Twitter that the connection between Mbappe and Messi is one of the best in European football this 2022-23 season.
The stats social media account stated that Messi had delivered six assists to Mbappe with PSG in Ligue 1 this season, the highest total of assists from the same player to another in the top five European leagues.
Both players must continue this form once the 2022-23 season pauses for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as they’ll look to be the reason their respective national team wins the tournament.
Nonetheless, if Mbappe and Messi continue to click at PSG, then they could be the reason the French giants make a deep run in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages this season.
