Report Reveals PSG’s Plan to Crush Barcelona’s Dream of Messi Return

The future of Lionel Messi will be decided after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as the 35-year-old wants to focus on the tournament, which will be his last.

Messi’s contract expires in June 2023, but Le10Sport reported on Thursday that sporting advisor Luis Campos took matters into his own hands a few weeks ago to engage PSG in a negotiation process with his representatives on a new contract.

Discussions between Campos and Messi’s representatives are only in their infancy stage, so nothing is concrete. Many things can change until the veteran forward’s contract expires next summer.

The former Barcelona star is in an excellent period of life and feels good in Paris, so there could be a reason for Messi to continue his tenure off the pitch. Meanwhile, when it comes to the financial side of a deal, Messi will then have to reach an agreement with the Qatari leaders.

It will be interesting to see if FC Barcelona makes a move in the coming months to bring Messi back to the Camp Nou or if he is content with having that chapter of his playing career closed.
