Lionel Messi has turned back the clock with his keen form as of late for Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain, which has come as no surprise to Barcelona midfielder Pedri.
On matchday five of this season’s Champions League group stage, Messi put on quite a show in PSG’s home matchup against Maccabi Haifa, scoring twice and assisting twice as well. The Argentine forward helped PSG remain in first place in Champions League Group H.
Following Barca’s Champions League home loss to Bayern Munich, Pedri was asked about Messi’s world-class form as of late. Now watching Messi from afar after being a teammate of his for one season, he remains much impressed with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“He is pure madness,” Pedri said. “I’ve said this about Leo before, he’s a magnificent person and a player who I don’t have to say anything about because now everyone in the world says it.
“I’m happy for him.”
Since the September international break, Messi has logged nine total goal contributions in five matches played for PSG in all competitions.
Messi and PSG will now have a pair of key fixtures against Troyes and Juventus to finish the month of October.
