Juventus has an eye on soon revamping its depth at the left-back position, and it has reportedly turned to Paris Saint-Germain full-back Juan Bernat as one possible solution to this matter.
As noted by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Le10Sport), Juventus is looking to soon bring in a left-back, and it has placed Bernat on its early transfer wishlist.
Alex Sandro has been Juventus’ go-to left-back so far this season, and the Italian side also boasts several other players on its roster capable of playing the position, including Mattia Da Sciglio. However, Juventus may end up being on the lookout for a new starter at the position, as Sandro is set to become a free agent at season’s end.
On the other hand, Bernat is no longer a regular starter at PSG. As now-former PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino did so last season, manager Christophe Galtier has called on Nuno Mendes to be his go-to wing-back out on the left side of his three-at-the-back setup.
At the least, Bernat is continuing to receive playing time minutes with PSG, logging five appearances in Ligue 1 play so far this season. Considering that PSG will have eight total fixtures in October, Bernat could possibly see an increase in minutes played next month.
