Paris Saint-Germain is coming off an impressive win over Maccabi Haifa, who put a scare into the capital club early in the UEFA Champions League matchup on Matchday 2.
Nonetheless, the French giants’ talent eventually would break through and take control of the matchup. Additionally, it would see Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Neymar Jr. score in the same match.
After PSG’s 3-1 win over the Israeli squad, CBS Sports analyst and former France international Thierry Henry shared his thoughts on the trio who have gotten off to good starts this 2022-23 football season.
However, Henry is preaching caution before people get carried away with possible predictions regarding what the three players can accomplish this year for PSG.
“Let’s calm down,” Henry said. “… The way they actually set up the team 5-2-3, having those guys in side Leo dropping and those guys making runs, it’s tough to defend. Really tough to defend.
“I would like to see when they’re going to play against a better position. We saw it a tiny bit against Juve, but you see that Juve are struggling, but they are doing what they’re supposed to do.”
The current Ligue 1 champions have the pressure of needing to win everything after only coming away with the league title last season. PSG’s goal is to win the Champions League, but they’ll also need to restore their dominance in French football by winning the Coupe de France.
