Paris Saint-Germain football advisor Luis Campos went all out to revamp the team’s midfield group over the recent summer transfer window, which included the addition of Renato Sanches. Campos opted to reunite with the now-former Lille OSC midfielder, as Sanches joined PSG on a permanent transfer deal in early August.
Overall, Neymar is well fond of Sanches’ potential as a midfielder.
In speaking to DAZN, Neymar was asked to spotlight one Ligue 1 player that he admires. After years of facing him during PSG and Lille clashes, the Brazilian forward opted to go with Sanches.
“A player who’s with us now: Renato Sanches,” Neymar said. “He’s very different as a player and a very good one. We’re lucky to have him with us now here, so we’re better now.”
Sanches has not been a regular starter for PSG manager Christophe Galtier since joining the club, although he has featured in five Ligue 1 fixtures and also went on to make an appearance in the UEFA Champions League home group stage fixture against Juventus.
It remains to be seen on whether Sanches may go on to start in PSG’s upcoming league contest against Brest.
