Neymar Inching Closer to Catching Messi on This Historic Assists Leaderboard

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar was a standout performer in his side’s UEFA Champions League home group stage win over Juventus. Neymar was a key playmaker in the contest, logging an assist to go along with four goal-scoring chances created during his time on the pitch.

Neymar’s assist during the match came on a keen pass he dished off to Kylian Mbappe in the early stages of the fixture, as the French forward ended up scoring a volley goal for PSG’s first goal of the new Champions League season.

Overall, this assist for the Brazilian forward was the 32nd of his Champions League career, which broke a tie with former Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs for sole possession of fourth place for the most assists in the competition’s history.
