Manchester United, Juventus Had Interest in PSG Star Defender This Past Summer

The summer transfer window has come and gone, so nearly a month since the last day European clubs could make any improvements to their squad, rumors of deals that might have occurred begin to surface.

Presnel Kimpembe’s name was in the rumor mill this past summer, linking him to a possible move to Chelsea, but no transfer ever materialized. Even with this, a recent report from Le10Sport would suggest The Blues weren’t the only Premier League side interested.

The French media outlet reports that Manchester United inquired about Kimpembe as they attempted to strengthen their center-back position.

However, the information doesn’t reveal how much The Red Devils were willing to pay or how serious their interest was in the defender. Additionally, the English clubs weren’t alone, as Juventus also had their eyes on Kimpembe.

Juventus needed a replacement for Matthijs de Ligt, but the Italian club didn’t put forth any deal to see them land the PSG center-back. Kimpembe remained past the summer, and with his contract expiring in 2024, the French giants would be wise to extend him.
