There’s plenty of discussion regarding the attitude that many saw from Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé. The 23-year-old made his 2022-23 season debut after missing the Trophée des Champions due to suspension and the first Ligue 1 match of the campaign due to injury.

Nonetheless, clips surfaced on social media, highlighting Mbappé’s behavior in the 5-2 win over Montpellier Hérault SC on Saturday at the Parc des Princes, where the France international scored his first goal of the season.

After the match, manager Christophe Galtier spoke to reporters to discuss the attitude displayed by Mbappé. The French tactician attempted his best to diffuse the situation.

“It was match-related,” Galtier said postgame. “The last time he played was 30 minutes and three weeks ago during the Japan tour. Automatically, he is not physically in tune with his teammates. It is this profile of competitive players.

“He must find his marks and his accuracy. As the game progressed, it got better. I made him play more than I expected because we are entering the competition and he wants to be there. He was able to play more than I thought.”
