Juventus want Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes, but their pursuit for the 28-year-old might have hit a ditch. The Serie A side wants the Argentine to replace Adrien Rabiot, rumored to be in talks with Manchester United.
However, there’s an issue there. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that Rabiot’s salary requests are considered crazy by the Premier League side.
As a result, discussions are now at a complete stand-still and could only reverse if Rabiot changes his mind. Manchester United won’t alter their salary bid made to the French midfielder.
Romano adds that it will be up to the 27-year-old; furthermore, the Red Devils are already exploring other options to address their midfield needs. This new hurdle likely makes Juventus’ pursuit of Paredes more difficult.
If the Italian side cannot offload Rabiot, then it will be interesting to see if the Old Lady can still pursue the PSG midfielder or if they’ll have to abort that interest.
