Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly close to adding another midfielder to join the signings of Vitinha and Renato Sanches. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano confirms the report that Napoli midfielder Fabián Ruiz is close to joining the capital club.
Romano states that talks between the two clubs are advanced, and PSG could complete the deal soon. Ruiz has one more year left on his contract, and rather than losing him on a free transfer; the Serie A side aims to sell the Spain international.
The 26-year-old would bring height to the midfield since he’s 6′ 2″, and the two recruits that sporting advisor Luis Campos has brought are under 5′ 9″. The PSG club chief is a big fan of Ruiz, but no further information on how much the capital club will pay.
Ruiz has been linked to Manchester United recently, and perhaps that might have pushed for Campos to move quickly and secure a transfer for the midfielder. The Napoli man has made 125 Serie A appearances during his four seasons in Italian football, scoring 18 goals and recording 15 assists.
Napoli is also interested in goalkeeper Keylor Navas, which Romano says the two clubs are discussing as part of a separate deal and has no impact on PSG’s pursuit of Ruiz.
