Paris Saint-Germain is still planning on continuing to revamp its midfield over the remainder of the summer transfer window. At the least, Danilo Pereira will not be leaving the club in the coming month.
As noted by Foot Mercato, PSG had initial plans to push for the departure of Pereira. However, Christophe Galtier now wants to “keep” Pereira on the roster. The newly appointed PSG manager has been impressed with the versatility and competitiveness of the Portuguese midfielder as of late.
For now, a departure for Pereira is “ruled out.”
Pereira has been a regular in training sessions as of late, and he also took part in all three of PSG’s recent preseason friendly fixtures against J1 League sides.
In the big picture, it will be noteworthy to see how Galtier will feature Pereira this season. The Portuguese international has proven to be a workhorse midfielder for PSG, although he also has experience in playing as a center-back as well.
