Paris Saint-Germain is pushing for former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane to lead their squad in this new project. Over the last 24 hours, there’s been plenty of reports on this front.

However, according to AS, the French tactician is saying no thank you as the Spanish media outlet says the 49-year-old coach has declined the offer he had on the table to lead the reigning Ligue 1 champions next season.

AS adds that Zidane remains faithful to his idea of waiting after the World Cup to decide his future because he wants to train the French national team. If the reporting is accurate, which could be a problem since it’s a Spanish source, the PSG will have to move on to its Plan B’s.

The other name that appears to be a frontrunner for the job is current OGC Nice boss Christophe Galtier, who worked with PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos. Nonetheless, if this is the end of the Zidane interest, then it’s time for the French side to move on.
