Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe has recently seen his name linked to Chelsea, and it seems as though the soon-to-be 27-year-old could be using those rumors to want a better deal for himself.
According to L’Equipe (via Hadrien Grenier), Kimpembe wants a better deal for himself as his current contract expires in 2024. The central defender isn’t in the top ten regarding salaries on the squad, and he appears ready to change that.
The France international wants a deal closer to what Marquinhos earns, which is about €1-million per month. Kimpembe’s current contract sees him make under €700,000 per month; as a result, it seems as though he wants a €300,000 upgrade in his monthly wages.
Now with incoming sporting advisor Luis Campos in charge, it will be interesting to see whether he values Kimpembe enough to give him that type of money or perhaps be open to listening in on offers for the defender.
