PSG Mercato: Paris SG Looks to Steal Wolverhampton Transfer Target

Paris Saint-Germain will be keen on improving their midfield this summer, and one of the areas within that group they want to finally address is the defensive midfielder role. Since the departure of Thiago Motta a few years back, the capital club has been unable to find his replacement.

Various players like Leandro Paredes and Danilo Pereira have tried to fill that role but don’t provide the consistency to hold down the position within the starting eleven. As a result, incoming sporting advisor Luis Campos will have to find a long-term solution.

According to O Jogo, PSG is again linked to Sporting Lisbon midfielder João Palhinha. The Portuguese media outlet states that renewed interest in Palhinha is directly linked to the arrival of Campos.

Furthermore, the project appeals to the 26-year-old due to PSG’s financial capacity. Wolverhampton Wanderers is closest to signing Palhinha with a €24-million offer. However, the Premier League club knows they will need to increase the numbers in the coming days, at least to €30-million, to convince Sporting.
