English Press Recommends Manchester United Pursue PSG Transfer Target

Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca will be a hot commodity this summer as Paris Saint-Germain is one of the clubs eyeing the 23-year-old. Reports suggest they’re ready to splurge to ensure they land the Italy international.

However, the Manchester Evening Press writes that Manchester United should be in the mix for the Italian forward. Furthermore, the English press states that Scamacca would be an ideal fit for new manager Erik ten Hag.

“The 23-year-old shows raw potential, but also the technique that a coach like Erik ten Hag could make use of. Firstly his link-up play is fantastic, and he consistently brings the likes of Domenico Berardi on the wing and Giacomo Raspadori in the number 10 position into play,” the English outlet wrote.

“If he was at United, these spots would obviously be filled by Jadon Sancho (though he plays on the opposite wing to Berardi) and Bruno Fernandes. But something that Scamacca brings to the field is an undisputed presence.”

Regarding the possible fee, any club will have to pay for the striker reports indicate that at least €40-million will be enough to secure the Italian goal scorer. Sporting advisor Luis Campos has Scamacca high on his list of targets to improve the squad.

Adding the forward would add some younger legs to a forward group that, outside of Kylian Mbappe last season, were either in their late 20s or 30s, so bringing in some youth is an improvement for the next campaign.
