Over the last few days, there’s been plenty of conversation over the future of Neymar Jr. at Paris Saint-Germain and whether he will remain with this new direction the club is heading in with Kylian Mbappe as the face of the project.
Moving Neymar would be difficult considering his wages, and there will only be a handful of clubs that could afford him. FC Barcelona might be one of them (depending on their financial situation), and manager Xavi Hernandez was asked about a possible reunion.
“Neymar has a contract. So it’s difficult to answer, very difficult,” Xavi said. These are players who are not ours, so when you ask me about Lewandowski… In the end, it’s not easy, but we have to strengthen our team.”
“We have to look at what we can do and what we can’t do. We have to prioritize certain positions. […] Obviously, Neymar is a player I don’t hate, but we haven’t talked about it; honestly, we haven’t talked about the option of Neymar’s return.”
