This summer, the midfield is a high priority for Paris Saint-Germain, and the capital club has been connected to various players to fill this need on the squad. One of them is AS Monaco’s Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Many are upset at PSG’s inability to keep players in Ligue 1, and it seems as though Les Parisiens could be striking out on another young and talented France international.
According to Téléfoot (via Goal), Liverpool is the favorite to land Tchouaméni, who could be ready for a summer move to a more prominent club, and it seems the French giants will be left at the altar.
Furthermore, Marca also reports that Real Madrid is cooling its interest as the 22-year-old wants to take the next step in his career at a league with a higher level than the French one, making it difficult for him to transfer to PSG.
The Spanish media outlet Real Madrid has not made any offer and sees the starting price of €70-million, making it a possible non-starter. Also, Tchouaméni isn’t keen on waiting another year at Monaco when he can get a transfer move this year, so Real Madrid could be out of the picture.
Nonetheless, the current group of midfielders gives reasons to those at Real Madrid who think it is unnecessary to strengthen the midfield. As a result, it opens the door for Liverpool.
