PSG Provides a Key Update On Icardi’s Notable Injury Ahead of the Montpellier Fixture

Paris Saint-Germain has officially ruled out Mauro Icardi from the upcoming Ligue 1 away fixture against Montpellier, the club announced on Friday.

Icardi has been sidelined as of late due to a right quad injury. The Argentine forward was initially provided with a two-to-three-week timeline for when he could make his return to action.

Overall, Icardi has continued to work his “way back to fitness” and is slated to train with the rest of the squad next week. It remains to be seen on whether the veteran forward will be provided with the green light to feature against Metz, which will be PSG’s last league fixture of the season.

Icardi has so far featured in 24 matches in league play this season with only 10 of them coming as starts. He currently sits at four goals scored in the campaign, as he has not scored since PSG’s away matchup against Lorient in the first half of the season.

Icardi has two more seasons remaining on his contract at PSG.
