With Paris Saint-Germain now having Kylian Mbappe extend until 2025, the next task is building a balanced squad. Luis Campos has yet to be officially named the sporting director, but that hasn’t prevented him from starting his job.
According to Foot Mercato, Campos wants Stade de Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, who turns 20-years-old next month. The profile of the Reims goal scorer is part of PSG’s new recruitment policy, which aims to hire younger players, even if they don’t have the name recognition, but do have a lot of room to grow.
When it comes to the price the Ligue 1 champions are willing to pay, RMC Sport reports that €40-million is what they’re prepared to offer. However, the capital club does face competition for the young forward.
There is also strong interest from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The most advanced are undoubtedly the two Milan clubs which have already made more concrete progress than the competition for several weeks.
Ekitike appeared in 27 fixtures this season for Reims, scoring 11 goals and recording five assists.
