Sergio Ramos’ first season at Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t gone as either party might have hoped for when they agreed to a two-year deal last summer. The 35-year-old has dealt with injuries that kept him away from the pitch.
Despite having a contract until 2023, there are talks regarding Ramos’ future in the French capital. However, in an interview with Prime Video Sport France, the former Real Madrid captain stated he wants to remain in the French capital and would like to add a third year to his stint.
“Here, I have two years at PSG, we will try to do three, one more, and then we’ll see. But as long as the physique holds up, I think I’ll be able to keep my mind focused,” Ramos said.
The PSG defender has only taken part in six Ligue 1 games this season and one in the Coupe de France. Ramos’ playing time stands at just 391 minutes, with just seven games left to play.
Ramos stated that despite his physical struggles, he sees himself playing “between four and five more years at the top level and then having a different experience.”
