Video: Pundit Is Astonished About the Negativity Surrounding PSG’s Ligue 1 Title

This past weekend, Paris Saint-Germain hit a significant milestone in its club history as they won their 10th Ligue 1 title, tying AS Saint-Étienne for the most in league history.

What should be a meaningful celebration hasn’t felt all that, considering PSG was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League sooner than anticipated. The ultras are protesting about the club’s direction, and then there’s the Kylian Mbappé extension saga.

After French giants clinched their Ligue 1 championship following their 1-1 draw against RC Lens, Prime Video pundit Thierry Henry spoke about the negativity around this title.

“In the history of football, I had rarely seen that. A team that wins ten titles and catches up with Saint-Etienne, and we are in the negative,” Henry said.

“I have trouble. Each time you try to come back to tell yourself, anyway, it’s ten titles, there is Mbappé who played. It hasn’t been extraordinary all the time at the Parc, of course, but we’re in the negative.[…] We’re not in the positive, and I find that a shame. It’s rarely happened, I think, when a team wins the championship so early, and people are b—hing.”
