After crashing out against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, many expect Paris Saint-Germain to part ways with manager Mauricio Pochettino. However, it seems as though the Argentine tactician wants another crack at coaching this squad.
In an interview with Europe 1, Pochettino showed his desire to remain at the helm of PSG, stating that he has one more year left on his deal after this season.
“I have one year left on my contract. My desire and challenge to start a new season is intact regardless of any rumors that may exist. Of course, there is the club management who always make the decisions. Who are always respectable,” Pochettino said.
“They are the ones who have to decide on the new project and, logically, I, as a coach, will give my point of view and I will also participate by explaining the past, explaining the current situation and what the future situation could be.”
It will be interesting to see whether this is Pochettino going rogue and showing his intentions to stay on as manager despite the reported changes that are coming or if he’s revealing something some people don’t know.
