Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos has had quite a roller-coaster season in his first campaign in Ligue 1, but he is aiming to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank at this stage in his career.
“In the end, I have spent just a few hours with the Paris Saint-Germain shirt, at my full level of fitness,” Ramos told PSG TV. “I’m looking forward to returning to the pitch and to show all the football I have left with my new team, with Paris Saint-Germain.”
Nagging calf injuries sidelined Ramos for much of the first half of the season, which included missing all six of PSG’s UEFA Champions League group stage matches. This ailment did not go away in the second half of the campaign, as he was ruled out from PSG’s Champions League round of 16 tie against Real Madrid.
PSG’s season is not yet over, as it has four fixtures left on its Ligue 1 schedule. It remains to be seen whether PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino will opt to feature Ramos in all of these contests.
