Messi Ranks Only Behind Muller and Mbappe in an Impressive Stat This Season

Lionel Messi has not been scoring at a world-class rate as of late, but he has exerted a keen impact at Paris Saint-Germain as a playmaker.

The Argentine forward shined in PSG’s Ligue 1 away win over Clermont Foot, as he recorded three assists in the contest. The veteran playmaker dished out a pair of assists to Kylian Mbappe and one such pass to Neymar.

Messi currently sits at 13 assists this season, which ranks only behind Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller (16) and Mbappe (14) for the third-most assists by any player in Europe’s top five leagues.

More so, Messi has posted a 2.8 key passes per match average in league play this season.

As mentioned, Messi has not had his way in the goals department over the past months, as he still sits at a mere three goals scored over the campaign. At the least, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino sure must be pleased to see the Argentine continue to form stern chemistry with both Neymar and Mbappe.
