Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Olympique de Marseille had quite an unusual atmosphere over the course of the match. Typically, the Parc des Princes can be rocking for a Le Classique showdown. This time around, the Collectif Ultras Paris restrained from issuing its support to PSG, as it is still displeased with the club’s early UEFA Champions League exit.

From PSG defender Marquinhos’ standpoint, he was not pleased with the lack of a grand atmosphere in this edition of Le Classique, which he touched on to Prime Video Sport France.

“Yes, there was no atmosphere,” Marquinhos said. “Frankly, I didn’t expect it, it was a Classic. It’s a game where you have to put everything aside in my opinion. It was not the time to do that. We understand it, they have their arguments, especially if they haven’t had an answer yet. But we had to put pride and hubris aside tonight. They made their choice, but as a player, I don’t agree.”

At the least, PSG received goals from Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as it moved a step closer to clinching the Ligue 1 title.

Overall, it will be noteworthy to see on the atmosphere for PSG’s remaining home fixtures in its Ligue 1 schedule. For now, PSG will meet Angers for a road contest on Ligue 1 matchday 33.
