Paris Saint-Germain has struggled in the UEFA Champions League from a mental aspect. The capital club has melted in press situations, leading to embarrassing exits in the competition, whether against FC Barcelona, Manchester United, or Real Madrid.
According to the newspaper L’Équipe (via Foot Mercato), the PSG would seek to strengthen its staff regarding the players’ mental preparation. The Parisian management would think about strategies and call on outside specialists to manage the players’ mental preparation problems.
Currently, there is no real mental coach within the PSG squad. Nonetheless, some within the capital club consider their issues when it comes to crumbling under pressure as a problem that is more mentality than mental.
Despite this line of thinking, the Ligue 1 club staff intends to work well on this question to avoid a new fiasco on the European scene. It will be interesting to see whether bringing in someone to help the squad in their mental preparation for these fixtures.
