The midfielder remains an issue at Paris Saint-Germain, and the capital club will need to fix it if they want to contend for the UEFA Champions League. Les Parisiens have Marco Verratti, but there’s a gap between him and the rest of the group.
As a result, pundits are pushing for PSG to get serious about pursuing AS Monaco Aurélien Tchouaméni and the latest to campaign to land the 22-year-old is Eric Rabésandratana. He stated the France international would be a better fit over Manchester United man Paul Pogba.
“At PSG, we need midfielders; we have seen it again this season with players too often injured or not performing well. I’m talking about Ander Herrera, Idrissa Gueye, I’m talking especially about Leandro Paredes,” Rabésandratana said on France Bleu Paris (via Paris Fans).
“It’s already three players on whom it is difficult to count. We need major players in this sector. We are therefore talking about Paul Pogba or Aurélien Tchouaméni. There is even talk of Pogba, who would be a higher priority than Tchouaméni for PSG.”
Rabésandratana states that landing Tchouaméni would fill the hole in the midfield since Thiago Motta departed. Furthermore, he says that the Monaco midfielder would compliment Verratti.
Along with PSG, another club linked to the Tchouaméni is Real Madrid, which wants to grab another young French midfielder after acquiring Eduardo Camavinga last summer. There will be plenty of blow-back aimed at PSG if the Spanish club lands him.
