Paris Saint-Germain has crashed out of the UEFA Champion League, and they’re also out of the Coupe de France. Furthermore, the capital club has a sizeable lead in Ligue 1, so the squad has not much motivation over these final few months.
Ahead of PSG’s fixture against FC Girondins de Bordeaux, manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke at his news conference. He discussed how he plans to motivate his players with the league all but won no other competitions.
“It’s a collective question to find this motivation; we have a responsibility by wearing this jersey. For tomorrow, it’s important to seek out this desire and this strength to win,” Pochettino said.
“Even if a victory tomorrow will not be a consolation compared to Madrid. There will be youngsters in the group tomorrow, but it’s also important that the other players can be on the pitch to eliminate that frustration.”
