Verratti Shares What Real Madrid Can Expect from PSG in the Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg

Paris Saint-Germain will meet Real Madrid in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday, which is a fixture that midfielder Marco Verratti sees that his side must orchestrate a “great performance” in.

Verratti took some time to speak to PSG TV ahead of the match, where he noted that Real Madrid can expect a PSG attack that well has what it takes to shine in counter-attacking sequences.

“We have to put in a great performance,” Verratti said. “We will have to do even better than what we did at the Parc, because we know that these players, at home, will inevitably play differently.

“I think that with the players we have, we can control the match. We also have a team that can play on the counter-attack, because with the speed we have up front, with great players who can pass, with Messi, Neymar Jr, Di Maria, Kylian, when we have space, we can be even more dangerous.”

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to roll out the Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe attacking trio for the match. They each featured together in the first leg of the tie after the Argentine manager opted to sub in the Brazilian international over the second half.

Much sure will be expected out of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe to lead the way for PSG in the return leg of the tie. The trio last featured together in PSG’s 3-1 Ligue 1 home win over AS Saint-Etienne.
