Pochettino Provides an Outlook on the Remainder of PSG’s Season

With Paris Saint-Germain’s early exits in the UEFA Champions League and Coupe de France competitions this season, the side is now just competing in Ligue 1 fixtures. For PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino, he aims to go on and win Ligue 1 this season.

After PSG’s league win over Bordeaux on matchday 28, the Argentine manager shared (via Prime Video Sport France) an outlook on his side at this point in the league campaign.

“We are a team, we are all together,” Pochettino said. “It’s a really sad situation. The focus is to win the title. We are ahead of our runner-up. The situation is difficult, we will not change the past. We must try to concentrate and win the title but also the next games.”

PSG is still on track to comfortably clinch Ligue 1, which would then be the first league trophy in the managerial career of Pochettino. With PSG’s key win over Bordeaux coupled with OGC Nice’s scoreless draw result against Montpellier, the side now currently holds a 15-point lead at the top of the league standings after 28 matches played in the campaign.

A pivotal league encounter against AS Monaco now awaits PSG on its league schedule. PSG came away with a 2-0 home win over AS Monaco in the first half of the season.
