Paris Saint-Germain suffered its fourth loss of the Ligue 1 campaign on matchday 29, as AS Monaco came away with a 3-0 win. For PSG, this is the second time in its last three matches in all competitions that it has allowed three goals, which also includes its 3-1 UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg defeat to Real Madrid.

PSG defender Marquinhos offered his reaction to the loss after the match (via L’Equipe), where he noted that this showing from his side is simply unacceptable.

“It’s catastrophic,” Marquinhos said. “It’s hard to digest. It’s our worst game of the year. We came here to have fun and win a game. We are in a difficult moment. You can’t just throw it all away. We all have to work together to get out of this moment.”

Even amid its recent sluggish form in all competitions, PSG still remains on par to go on and clinch the Ligue 1 title. However, current second place side Rennes has been making a notable push in the Ligue 1 standings as of late, as it has won its last five matches in league play, which include its recent 6-1 win over Metz.

PSG will return to Ligue 1 play in the home fixture against Lorient following the upcoming and final international break of the season.
