‘Hasn’t Lost His Qualities’ – Pundit States PSG Needs to Find the Right for Lionel Messi

The first year of Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t gone as planned. The 34-year-old’s scoring boots have struggled to adapt to French football; however, he has become more of a playmaker for the capital club this season.

Nonetheless, most will remember Messi not being a factor against Real Madrid in the two legs. Furthermore, the Argentine forward missed the penalty kick in the first leg, which now looks past considering the final aggregate score.

Despite the challenging season for the former FC Barcelona French football pundit Eric Rabésandratana stated in an interview with Le Parisien (via Paris Fans) that Messi has not lost its qualities and rather questions its use.

Rabésandratana wants PSG to have a manager that will put the Argentine in the best position to have the ball because, with it, Messi can do whatever he wants.

“The guy hasn’t lost his qualities. But you have to use him differently, that’s for sure. You have to stop putting him on the right side, even if he doesn’t stay there long and it comes into play,” Rabésandratana said.

“You have to find a function for him. You have to accept that he runs a lot less. Because, when he has the ball at his feet, he is capable of doing anything extraordinary.”

PSG will likely have a new coach come the summer, and it’s up to whoever they decide to hire to get Messi back on track and get the most out of the veteran forward.
