Paris Saint-Germain had plenty of chances to break through and score a couple of goals against Real Madrid. Eventually, the capital club broke through late in the second half when Kylian Mbappé went by a couple of defenders and went five-hole on Thibaut Courtois.

After the 1-0 victory over, Mbappé spoke with Canal Plus. The 23-year-old provided his thoughts on the result and the squad’s mindset heading into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium next month.

“We wanted to be ready for this big European night. These are matches that we want to play, that we dream of playing. You had to be in it straight away. At the start, the match was on a false rhythm, the two teams camped on their positions. We wanted to win, we were pushed by our supporters,” Mbappé said.

“We are very happy to have this slight advantage but there is a return match that we will have to prepare well with the league, especially the match on Saturday because we know how we can be after beautiful European evenings. And then we will attack this match at the Santiago Bernabeu.”
