Paris Saint-Germain came away with a 1-0 victory over Stade Rennais, where Kylian Mbappé scored the game-winning goal late in the second half. The capital club needed a win to get some positive momentum heading into the first leg of their Round of 16 matchup.
Following the win over Rennes, right-back Achraf Hakimi spoke with PSG TV, where he discussed the scoring difficulties in the match. Furthermore, he explains the fight that’s in the squad that helped them come away with the win.
“In truth, it was a difficult match until the last moments. We worked hard, we fought, and we prepared well for the match to win it. It was a good match in the end, and we are happy to take the three points,” Hakimi said.
“We scored a lot of goals in the final minutes, and it shows that one of the strengths of this team is that we always fight until the end. It’s very positive for the team because it shows that we have character and that little something special to win.”
